Air America (1990)

Air America (1990) is a American action comedy film directed by Roger Spottiswoode, and starring Mel Gibson and Robert Downey Jr as Air America pilots flying mission over in Laos during the Vietnam War. The film is an adaptation of Christopher Robbins 1979 non-fiction book, chronicling the CIA financed airline to transport weapons and supplies in Cambodia, Laos, and South Vietnam during the Vietnam War.

Air America menceritakan tentang petualangan pilot-pilot sipil Amerika Serikat di Laos yang bekerja untuk sebuah maskapai penerbangan rahasia milik CIA saat Perang Vietnam berkecamuk. Para pilot ini selain ditugaskan untuk membawa suplai logistik untuk militer Laos, ternyata sering juga membawa kargo obat terlarang. Bahkan tokoh utama film ini berprofesi sambilan juga sebagai pedagang senjata. Pada film ini banyak menampilkan aksi dari pesawat transport Fairchild C-123 Provider, Pilatus Turbo-Porter, dan helikopter Bell UH-1 Huey.

The Hunt for Red October (1990) is a American submarine spy-thriller directed by John McTiernan, produced by Mace Neufeld, and starring Sean Connery, Alec Baldwin, Scott Glenn, James Earl Jones, and Sam Neill. The film is an adaptation of Tom Clancy's 1984 bestselling novel of the same name.

The story is set during the late Cold War era and involves a rogue Soviet naval captain who wishes to defect to the United States with his officers and the Soviet Navy's newest and most advanced nuclear missile submarine, a fictional improvement on the Soviet ICBM capable Typhoon Class submarine. The Hunt for Red October was a big success at the box office with US$ 200,5 million. The budget only US$ 30 million.

The Hunt for Red October menceritakan tentang pembelotan seorang kapten AL Soviet (Captain Ramius) beserta para perwiranya yang mengawaki sebuah kapal selam nuklir terbaru AL Soviet. Usaha pembelotan ini hampir gagal karena adanya perlawanan dari agen rahasia KGB yang mengawasi aktivitas pelayaran kapal selam nuklir bernama Red October tersebut. Namun dengan bantuan seorang analisis CIA dan kapten kapal selam AS beserta awaknya, Captain Ramius akhirnya berhasil membelot ke Amerika Serikat secara rahasia dengan membawa kapal selam nuklir terbaru Soviet.
